Given an assignment,
a TOPCOR specialist will make an inspection to evaluate
the defect. In addition to a visual survey, he will
measure and map the defect. The pipe is then evaluated
along with the operating parameters. Environmental considerations
are also taken into account in order to identify and
qualify any conditions that could affect the installation
of the corrosion protection or repair
product.
The TOPCOR specialist prepares a detailed
survey report.
Drawing upon TOPCOR’s experience with similar
defects, the specialist is able to present the options
and to recommend a product and an installation procedure
that can be used to protect or repair the pipe.
Once approved by the client, TOPCOR
personnel will secure the necessary materials and provide
the various support services such as scaffolding and
grit blasting if requested. The installation will be
performed under the supervision of the specialist in
accordance with TOPCOR control procedures. Upon completion,
the specialist will prepare and submit to the client
a detailed
report which will serve to document the installation.
